5TH INTERNATIONAL SLAVIC SYMPOSIUM
Poland – Brasil
We are honoured to announce 5th International Slavic Symposium to take place on 7-8 June 2018 in Warsaw (Poland) and in Irati (Brazil).
The idea for the symposium first emerged in the South of Brasil at the Midwestern State University (UNICENTRO). Past editions have taken place at the university campus in Irati and at the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University in Ukraine.
We are delighted that this year’s edition is going to be held at the University of Warsaw, with the Institute of Polish Language, the Institute of Iberian and Iberian-American Studies and at the Unicentro with the Centre of Slavic Studies as the conference’s co-hosts.
We hope for the symposium to become a platform for discussion about Slavic cultural and linguistic heritage in Europe and around the world. We welcome the submission of papers both on current topics, as well as those based on historical studies into broadly conceived Slavism, particularly in the area of Polish-Brazilian connections.
The official languages of the conference are Polish, Portuguese and English.
Each paper will be given a time slot of 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for Q&As.
Favourably reviewed papers will be published in one of the upcoming issues of “Prace Filologiczne”.
In order to submit, please fill in the application form by May 20, 2018. After confirming the acceptance of the paper (May 30, 2018), please send the conference fee to the account of the Polish Language Foundation by June 5, 2018.
